This policy explains what information Vunep collects through this website and how it is used. We aim to keep this accurate to what the site actually does — not a generic template.
Information we collect
Most visitors browsing this site are not tracked and don't have any personal data collected — just the language-preference cookie described below. If you use the contact form, we collect the name, email, subject, and message you submit, solely to reply to you. If you sign in with Google to manage a team profile, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google and store them to run the dashboard. Anything you choose to publish on your public profile — bio, education, links, or a photo — is intentionally public and visible to anyone who visits it.
Cookies
NEXT_LOCALE remembers your language preference and is set for every visitor. A separate authentication cookie is set only for people who actually sign in to manage a profile, to keep them logged in. Neither cookie is used for tracking, advertising, or analytics, and neither is shared with any third party for those purposes.
Third-party services
We use Google for sign-in (we never see or store your Google password), Resend to deliver contact-form emails, and a self-hosted, S3-compatible storage service for profile photos. Links to external sites — our GitHub organization, team members' personal websites — lead to services with their own privacy practices; we're not responsible for those.
Data security
Sign-in is handled entirely by Google — we never see or store passwords. Session data lives in our own database, access to team profile editing is restricted to the specific person (or admin) assigned to that profile, and uploaded photos are stored in access-controlled cloud storage, publicly reachable only via their direct link. Contact-form messages are relayed by email and are not stored in our database.
Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
As Vunep launches new products and services, this policy will be updated to reflect what data those products collect. The date at the top of this page reflects the last update.
